Hundreds of tiny punctures in underquilt. Repair suggestions?

    Hello,

I have a ton of tiny punctures in an underquilt. I set it up for my wife and over the course of the night the hammock sagged until when I woke up I saw the underquilt was touching the ground. It was just grass but maybe short stubs punctured underquilt.

Anywho... long story short I need to do a repair. I was cutting small circles out of gear-aid tape but that is taking way too long. I'm looking instead to just dab a small pinhead amount of some liquid sealant that will dry and plug the whole.

Any suggestions for what that sealant should/could be?

    Thank you!

Have you tried just throwing it in the dryer for a while? That may close up the 'holes' that you are noticing. A photo of the issue may help with better suggestions.

Will the dryer be a long term fix or will the shell fabric relax again over time?

I just uploaded a photo to my original post. Thanks for your help!

Bummer! If the fabric threads have simply been pushed aside to make an opening, then try holding the affected spot between finger and thumb and rubbing it around. The threads may move back into better alignment. If threads are actually torn, then I'd be inclined to agree with your approach of a tiny dab of sealant/glue.

    Thanks! Is there a sealant/glue you'd recommend?

Discuss with UQ manufacturer. Save time / frustration. Perhaps other vendors could recommend adhesive.

    tandre,

    Total drag.

I would imagine Aqua Seal would work just fine. Just a slight dab across the punctures, will lay down a thin layer of sealant. Works perfectly to to fix punctures in breathable waders.

    Good luck.
