    Keeping it simple in Harriman

This is not much of a trip report as I just went on a very short hike for more of a camping trip to spend a beautiful day, evening, night and morning outside with some nice views and a nice sunset. I shot most of the video of my tarp and bivy pitched in a sweet location and talk about the few gear items i used for this overnighter. Regardless if I hammock camp or sleep on the ground, I always prefer to take as minimal gear as possible because I enjoy having less to worry about. From packing, carrying, unpacking and having "stuff" laying around camp, having to look for something, having to gather everything and pack everything, forgetting something.. My reasons for taking less are never ending. There is enough clutter and things to worry about and look after in my everyday life, so when I do get out in nature I prefer to go as minimal as possible and keep it real simple!

    Finally got to watch this.

So nice to load up the equivalent of a 'knapsack' and take a short jaunt into the woods for a quiet break... very well done!

And it doesn't require a lot of "stuff!"

Indeed, I know many spots like that in Harriman... "Ohhh, I gotta camp there sometime!"

I love that little area just north of Stockbridge as well.
