    EPLX 400 OR ULTRAPE 400

    Hello all,
Does anyone know if any of the hammock tarp makers are using these newer fabrics. I want to get a new
tarp. A little smaller than my dyneema palace and better coverage than my dyneema standard.

    Thank You.

I haven't seen anything, but Simply Light Designs has the option for custom fabrics if you contact Jared.

However, I just did a quick google search...I assume the 400 is for 400 denier. These fabrics seem more suited for backpacks: https://seekoutside.com/divide-ultralight-backpack/

The EPLX400 is 6.9 oz/sq yard. Couldn't find the weight for UltraPE 400. In contrast, silpoly 1.1 is 1.1 oz/sq yd and DCF 0.51 is 0.51 oz/sq yd.

Yes, There is a significant weight difference. Really didnt notice the per sq yd weight until you pointed it out! The new material shaved a couple
oz's off of the Pack weight but that was because the Xpac they were using was a tad heavier than the 400 fabric.
