    PA > Allegheny National Forest > Minister Creek > 7/21-7/24 (2022)

After much deliberation, we're ready to announce the dates for our annual ANF summer group hang (a.k.a. MidHHA).

As before, we’ll be camping a short ways off the trail leading south from the parking lot on Rt. 666 (directly across the road from the actual campground). This is essentially car camping, so those who are not of the hiking persuasion are able to join in the fun.

Several of us will be arriving on Thursday to stake out our area, but everyone is welcome to join in as their schedule allows. I'm hopeful we'll be able to secure some of the larger group areas slightly further back the trail, so we're not forced to be as spread out from each other as last year.

As always, whether you're a veteran hanger, newbie, ground dwelling heathen, or even if you just want to drop by and check out what hammock camping is all about, ALL ARE WELCOME!

Ah first MAHHA now midHHA you got to love it! Here is a picture from last year hopefully this year we get the bigger site just down from here. The picture show what the area is like. There is a creek running down long the campsites with a lot of trees to hang from. There is a lot to do you can hike down to the river or up to the overlook. The Minister Creek trail a 6.6 mile loop trail connects with the NCT.

Asher and I will be there. And I'll bring the Dutch Ovens, so something yummy will be cooking on the coals.

Grrrr. So disappointed. Was really looking forward to this but the stupid Garth Brooks concert is that Saturday night at the Stadium in Buffalo. I work at the stadium so i'll be stuck there. Maybe I can get him to change the date. Priorities man.

Plan on daytime temps in the low to mid 80's and nighttime temps in the mid to possibly low 50's. Possibly cooler if it rains. Last year was really nice weather, but muddy conditions.

PM me if you'd be interested in setting a meetup point and sharing gas/expenses - I'm coming out of the Southern Catskills area of NY about an hour and a half north of NYC, so it might be a doable thing.

Oh man, that sucks. Gotta say, there aren't many places I'd want to be stuck in less than a Garth Brooks concert!

What a bummer. Haven't seen you guys in forever! Was looking forward to catching up at the last MAHHA, but that was obviously a bust as well.
