Hello from Breedon on the Hill, UK

    Hi all,
Just got my first hammock, a HH Jungle Expedition Zip and a HH Hex Fly off eBay. I haven't used it yet but I'm looking forward to my first outing with it.
I've done a lot of motorcycle camping, canoe camping and a bit of backpacking/wild camping in the past; with a tent or bivvy bag.
Looking forward to picking up some tips and knowledge on here.

    Mick

Buellzebub, a hearty shout out from across the pond!
You gonna have fun, dialing in your rig, and meeting hammock aficionados for camping.

    Hi Mick,

A fellow Brit in the swing here.

Have a bunch of hammocks so looking to see about making more time to use them.

I wonder if we might be able to find some ways to hold hammocking gatherings here in the UK along similar lines to meets in the US? I know that we have differing laws, National Park setups & so on but there might be a chance to start gathering some like-minded people, research & find some hanger-friendly locations, then get some small numbers of us together for a cuppa & a campfire sometime.

It'd be a good way to look at different setups, methods & learn from one another, while sharing this hobby we all enjoy. This weekend for instance, I'm adding some mods to my Superfly tarp to make for easier pitching & adjustment in different weather types. Cheap, easy & a big help in the woods.

Shropshire based here so not so far.

    Have a good one,

    Dave/Dai
