    I know that the appropriate sized eye bolts get used in the manner for porch swings and they hold two or more people. Of course I prefer to go through the joist horizontally when it can be accessed.
    As far as having a center cord/rope for pulling it up and out of the way, I don't see that it's necessary when you could use the two end attachments and just have them become one cord/rope. I would struggle to explain how but the method gets used to lift kayaks for storage.
    If you searched up those you could see how it's done.
    I do think it would swing around a lot unless it was guyed out more than just the two line going up.
