    My easy/expensive turtledog stand

My whole reason for joining these forums was just researching how to build a turtle dog stand. This isn't the cheapest stand, $310 total but everything folds down to 4' sections and looks professional lol.
The stands are Hammaka tripods which we also use for there intended purposes with hanging chairs outdoors.
The ridgepole is military surplus camo net (mast) poles. I cut the over all length down to 12' which is perfect for my REI quarter dome hammock.
And for the hardware I used stainless steel 8mm Quick Link, Lifting Nut, and Eye Bolt.

I'm not fond of turtle dog stands, but that is one fine looking rig! Love the mast poles. I have 12 of those - I need to decide what to do with them...

Really nice looking stand. What is the height of the crossbar in that configuration?

Don't ever forget, not even once, to completely tighten the quick link or it will get sprung and unusable.

The crossbar is right around 6' off the ground. I'm 6'3" so it's pretty easy for me to get in and out of the hammock but if you were under 5'10" it might take some effort to get in the hammock lol

I know the dangers of the Quick Links, I always tighten them
