Best Bug Net for a 14 foot Mayan Hammock

Okay folks, I tried the search with no luck. Does anyone know and/or have used a bug net that will work on a 14 foot Mayan hammock? I'm baking in the heat and humidity since moving to Mexico and while I've only gotten a handful of mosquito bits in 5 months, apparently the real mosquito season is about to begin.

Most of the bug nets I've seen look too small.

What does the brain trust have to say?

    Best, Brady

I would check with Simply Light Designs, I bet you could have one custom made.

If you're handy with a sewing machine (or know someone who is), you can custom make your own. I recommend a fronkey bug net. It has 360° protection but requires a lot of netting (especially for a 14' hammock!). There are other options for minimalist nets (called the "hug" I think) and built in nets. A little searching should turn up several options.

The only problem I find w/ a fronkey net (which I do use) on a Mayan style hammock is that it doesn't totally close on the bottom and normally uses your hammock to act as a "plug" for the bottom hole.
In the summer when I use my Mayan I found that an UQP loose on the outside of the net prevented the biters from getting to me from the bottom. The downfall was that it also cut any breeze.
If I had to make the perfect one it would go all the way to the ground/floor and be weighed enough at the bottom to not blow open from the breeze that I was hoping to cool me.

Maybe something like this but may have to modify.

Otherwise for 14 feet it may require making one or having one made.

Good to know! I typically don't work about bug nets except on the hammock body, at least when I lived in Canada but we didn't have all these tropical diseases...

Canada to Mex, that's a jump! Where did you end up?

I may have to have you get me another Mayan hammock bigger than the one I have, then I'll be able to show my lady that you really can sleep more than one in a hammock.
The Mayan is the only one that I've ever been able to do that w/.

Sometimes I really miss my travels down south.
