MA > SPRING HANG NOBLE VIEW AMC CAMP RUSSELL > FRIDAY MAY 13-SUN MAY 14 2022

    Hi Folks,

I am adding this in for Jerry as he posted on NEHHA Facebook page but others might not see it there if they don't go to that page.

"we will be basecamping both evenings.
i have two loop hikes planned.
One through some awesome forest area with a nice grotto and waterfalls.
This would be a morning hike with a return to camp for lunchtime.
The second is a bit more challenging, but with a nice view toward the end"

I would imagine we will do the same as always: Potluck Saturday night and sharing food as you wish the other times for other meals. Nobleview spring hang may 2022.xlsx

Hope to see you all there

This is a Family-Friendly Event at the AMC Noble View Outdoor Center location!

    WHERE
    AMC Noble View Outdoor Center
    635 S Quarter Rd, Russell, MA 01071

We have reserved up to 5 sites, so plan on a weekend of fun, hiking, gear showing, and as always, eating.
I will have maps of the whole center, with the two different hikes highlighted

The cost for this is 13 dollars per person for multiples of 4.
It will be no more than 20 if we do not get multiples of 4.

    EVENT DETAILS

    Cell Phone Coverage
Cell Phone coverage is spotty. The camping area itself, and the adjacent field are fine.

    Pets
Great news! This park is “pro pet”. However, they only welcome well behaved pets. Also, whether you bring a dog, cat, bird, or ferret, please keep him/her/them on a leash.

    Firewood
We will need to bring our own. If people can indicate they will bring some, that would be awesome.
If you are bringing some from the local area, then anything should be fine.
If you are brining some from outside of Mass/Ct, then please check for indications of insects, and do not bring bark.

    Campsites.
We will be using up to 5 campsites, each with a tent platform and its own fire ring. This gives a flat surface for doing any kitchen work. They do not have coverings though, so tarps may be necessary. The area we will be at is fairly flat, and well treed, so hang spots should not be an issue. Additionally, there is one larger fire ring for us to be able to gather around.

    Water
The group site has water at the group camp bathhouse. Also, cool stuff, they have a sink outside of the restrooms for dishwashing. Another fun fact: with our reservation, we have shower privileges as well.
    Bathrooms
The group site has men and women's flush toilets and sinks with running water.
    Parking
There is a good size parking lot roughly .25 miles from the camp area. I will try to arrange the ability to drive up close to drop off equipment, but cannot guarantee it.
    Vendor Sales
There will be no vendor sales.

    Clean-up After Dinner
After the meal: Please make sure you clean up your eating area and take with you, or dispose of, any food containers and cast-iron items you’ve brought. This will help to leave the group camping area in the same or better condition than when we arrived.

    Leaving Your Campsite
Sunday when leaving group hang area: Please look around your area before you leave to make sure everything is cleaned up, again, let us leave the group hang area in the same or better condition than when we arrived. If someone forgot something, take it with you and post on HF.

Oh well. Thanks for trying and we'll do it again some other time.
