How to put a reinforced hole in 0.5 no-see-um? Tell me this is a bad idea

Here's my idea. Netless hammock with tie out hooks a la Dream hammock + bottom entry bugnet. Shock cord tie out from hammock goes through a hole in the bugnet. Anyone know of a nifty piece of hardware or even an ugly patch of sturdy tape that would work? I am thinking this is more trouble than its worth and would shorten the life of the bugnet considerably

How would you get into, or out of it, w/ the netting held down by the tie-outs?

In my head it’s possible. Only one side if the hammock is tied down. Loosen shock cord on the net, enter from other side.

Leaning towards adding tie out loops to the bug net instead

I have a small alligator clip on a length of thin shock cord that I use - works great.

I only attach it to my fronkey bugnet to keep it well away from my head. I have 2 of these nets for my netless hammocks. Interestingly, I only use the tieout with one of them, the other hangs perfectly fine well away from me with no issues. The one I use it with is very lightweight (almost float in the breeze weight) which I think causes it to need to be tied away rather than hanging on the edge. I’ve also just thrown something lightweight in the bottom of the net which also keeps it well away.

    Good luck.
