I recently got p.o.'d at my lines and cut all the loops/eyes off the ends. I just have them tied to the webbing loop, with nothing but straight line hanging down.
Once at camp, unfurl the tarp, and since there is nothing to snag, the lines fall out smoothly.
For staking, I tie a marlin spike hitch into each line, slide in a stake as my spike, and push the stake in the ground. When removing stakes, just pull from ground slide the knot down stake. and 'pop' the spike hitch comes undone.

I'm not sure exactly how strong they are, but I've been considering buying some of those roll-up key holders. You know the ones that clip to your belt and allow you to pull the key on a cord out from it? Similar to the retractable dog leashes.

It'd add a bit of weight, but at least I wouldn't have to wrap my lines...

My guylines are straight lines (no loops on the lines). I use snakeskins on the tarp and do not tie up any of the 7 lines ( 3 on each side, plus 1 side pull out). They simply get swallowed up into tarp as I slide snakeskins over tarp. I use the marlin spike hitch from Stormcrow's video to stake down the guylines.

The lines do not tangle. Saves time not having to tie them up or untangle them as I setup.

My Hennessy Hex tarp came with little pockets for the guy lines at each tie out point. I normally hank the lines really quick and stow them in the pockets. Works great for when I deploy the tarp in the wind. My lines don't blow around and get caught in bushes or around rough barked trees.

I wonder if the ZQ already does this? I have been considering sending my MaCcat up there for a permanent door mod to go along with the Grizz beak that's on it's way. Might make for a good combo mod for a tarp if you are getting the doors attached....

A while back somebody posted about replacing tarp tie-outs with light weight straps so they wouldn't tangle. I searched, and found a thread that discussed using 1/2" grosgrain with ladderlocks, but apparently there was a problem with slippage with the ladderlocks. It's possible that there was a another poster who used small polypro straps to eliminate tangle, but I haven't found that one.

I use a single tie-out on each side of my tarp, wind up the lines and stow them in small pockets at the tieout point, then store the tarp in snakeskins.

I agree with 'olGringo and Rook.
My Hennessy hex tarp has pockets for the ropes. So cool!

My three nysil tarps are Cooke Custom Sewing and I like them a lot but alas, no pockets.
In March on a scout outing I was setting up the tarp in mod high winds and had the ridge lines tied off, when I got called away to attend to some duties, and when I returned about 45 min later ALL 10 lines had spliced themselves into the Mother of All Knots!

I'm surprised some of out HF tarp makers don't have pockets as standard, or least as an option. I could be convinced I need another tarp in that case.

I just stuff mine in the stuff sack. The No-Tangle guylines are a breeze to get apart. YMMV.

Skittles was just talking to Scott Littlefield abouy adding guy line pockets. We sent him some pictures of the pockets on my hex tarp. He's looking into adding these pockets to his tarps. Just fyi. Skittles loves her custom Winter Dream tarp from Scott.

I have a figure nine at each tie out point. I take them off one by one, roll em around my hand, and put a rubber band around them. Not much work and rubber bands dont weight anything. I keep a separate bag for my tarp and my stakes/figure nines.
