And a big thanks to Bob for his hard work gathering wood so we could enjoy fine campfires. A really great time in the piney woods.
PappyAmos taught an old dog new tricks!
Thank you PappyAmos!
I have two Evernew water bags. One for creek water, and one for filtered water. A full sized Sawyer Squeeze filter is connected to both bags with help of a small threaded coupler.
There was talk around campfire about water filters silting up and water flow slowed to a drip or stopping altogether.
And the need for back flushing with syringe style plunger that comes with Sawyer Filter.
Not needed!
PappyAmos said since mine is a closed system, I could simply squeeze the filtered bag back up through the Sawyer Squeeze filter and back into the creek water bag.
It works!!! Instantaneously!!! Nothing to take apart, assemble or put back the way it was to continue filtering.
Wow!!!
yep, I learned a few things this weekend, as I am wanting to upgrade some of my stuff.
Looking at several things that I am not familiar with, I forget who had what. I was thinking Pappy Amos had the CNOC bags like the one I borrowed from Tom Tom to get water.
I loved the bottom that opened wide for scooping water.

I too will something make and joy in it's making
Glad y'all had a good time.
I have two water filtration systems that I've landed on. The first is a Sawyer Squeeze with a CNOC bag. The second is the Katadyn BeFree with a HydraPak Seeker collapsible bottle. There are - of course - pros and cons to each of my systems but the CNOC bag is easier to fill from a stream in my opinion, and the BeFree has a better flow rate in my experience.

What a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed everything about it. Great people, great fires and great food. The hike up Lick Mountian that Don and I made was good exercize. There were a few good jokes also
