Slowhike, I will help with water filter.
And if I forget to bring an extra filter for you…
I’ll loan you a lightly worn sock to strain creek particulates for your morning joe&tea

Be warned, for any of you who don’t camp in Uwharrie NF a lot, Dutchman’s Creek is *very* silty. I usually fill my dirty-water bag through a knee-high nylon I scavenged from my wife, and I use a silt pre-filter on my pump filter (as Scoutmaster I wind up with a lot of filters).

I forgot the dirty sock method! And it's a type of gravity filter!

If someone will bring something to split wood with, I will bring my bow saw.

An axe might be too heavy? for backpacking
I don’t have right knives. Some use sturdy knives and baton to split wood. Like WV did at Grayson.

I can bring my Sven saw too but don't have an axe because I do what Phantom suggests and bring a knife to baton wood.

Was hoping someone would bring a nice big knife for batoning. Biggest knife I have has a 3" blade.

Bob is bringing his saw. That way no one else has to carry their saw (extra weight) unless they want to bring their own saw.

A knife for batoning wood, is optional
    Have fun
    Fingers are extra

I have a mini saw, size of a pocket knife. When I went to remove it from my overloaded pack, it held on for dear life. I probably will not use mini saw to cut wood.
But I might have to use it if there is brush to clear out from my hang.
