Hang Williams, my take on it is comfort has more priority than a pound. Meaning if you like the feel of a DL hammock, then that DL BBXLC is going to weigh more than any SL hammock (even with the “lightweight” DL option). Your Wooki may weight a little more than just an UQ - especially if the UQ is not full length. If you are 5’6” or shorter, that a ¾ length UQ is almost full length.

So it seems to me that you have a pretty good setup. Sure, you can loose .oz’s with a DCF tarp, but your wallet will be a lot lighter too. And DCF tarps are not all “Pro’s”, they have their “Con’s” too.

Your gear weight is already in line with several previous posts and only about a pound over those who are using more exotic fabrics and fills (950 down).

If you are a beginner, I’m sure things will change after a summer or two. But I’d suggest chasing ease of setup and comfort first, then dial down the weight if you want.

In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
