Going to buy, do I need anything else?

Hate to keep asking the same questions but, as my first hammock I know you guys understand!

I'm sold on the WB BB!
I'm planning on the BB 1.7 double layer with the adjustable webbing suspension. and a Big Mama sil tarp.

Any advantage to colors? I'm thinking olive or coyote.

Double layer for my pad of course. Can I still add an UQ later.

As far as tarps, maybe I didn't read into it. But, can doors be added later if I choose?

And overall is there anything else I need for this set up? Or is this a complete set up out of the box?

I believe the 1.7 only comes in green. Yes, you can add a UQ later. The Big Mambajamba does have a door kit you can add later. And you will need biners or Dutch clips along with guylines and stakes for your tarp. You'll love this setup!

I second the Dutch clips. My next hammock will brown for the stealth factor year round.

Welcome PPFD, you've got a good list of stuff there. Have a look at snakeskins for your tarp, not needed but some of us like using them to store the tarp in. Also you might want to look at this a little later.

Youll need guy lines for the perimeter and lines for the ridge of the tarp as well. Youll want tensioners in your guy lines if the tarp is nylon, which I believe it is.

For the ridge you can either go with a 2 line or 1 line set-up. The 2 line shaves some weight... IMO the 1 line affords you more utility uses than a 2 line. And it helps support the ridge of the tarp if you pitch the tarp over the line.

Snake skins are basically socks for your tarp. Youll want a 1 line Tarp Ridge line in order to make best use of the skins. What you do is pull all your guy lines and then slide the skins from the outboard position towards the center. There is one on either side of the tarp and the meet in the middle. Its a darn slick way to stow your tarp and makes set-up in less than ideal conditions a breeze.

The Dutch Clips are easier to work with... but sometimes difficult to get. They were in stock in the HF store last week, but they tend to go quickly. A biner works just as well, however.

Dutch Dutch Dutch. GO dutch for the BB.

We use figure 9s on the tarp creating a tarp ridgeline from tree to tree, then prussiks on for the tarp to the ridgeline so we can just slap it up and scoot it alone the ridgeline for perfect placement over the hammock.

    Have fun.

Why is that? I always have two lines on my tarp ridgeline, and I sometimes use the skins...never had a problem. What's the advantage of one line when using skins?

How can they be any easier to setup with over a biner? The biner is heavier, but all you do is clip it to the webbing itself. Seems pretty quick.

Mechanically speaking they are easier because there are no moving parts. In practice they are almost an afterthought. Wind strap around tree, push it toward clip, wipe hands on pants.
