    Folding back tarp doors?

Hey all, this pertains to a winter dream tarp. Specifically one used with dual interior pole mod. When not utilizing doors, does it matter if they are folded back on the outside vs the inside during rainy weather and clipped together with cordage? I’ve never used a tarp with doors let alone in rainy weather and wasn’t sure if the rain would make its way underneath via capillary action if left folded.
    thanks

Hmm, I never noticed any water making it thru when clipped on the inside.

However I prefer them on the outside, because I use shock cord and mitten hooks with the gate clipped off. Gets kinda snaggy when I'm shuffling around up against the tarp. But if rain is forecast, I'll clip them on the inside because it's easier to access and close the doors. I just unhook them then clip onto the opposite side D ring, all while under the tarp.

I do the exact same setup/stuff as FLTurtle. I have left the doors clipped to the outside during rain storms before, and had no capillary or otherwise seepage to the inside. Doors clipped together on the inside makes for a quick deployment while still under the tarp, but does kind of get in the way of things under the tarp.

I also keep mine outside whenever not in use and have had no problems during any storms. My winter dream 13 is the lime green one. 402F6683-5255-499D-BFD3-5F65B2396B0B.jpg

    What others have said.
I've switched and keep mine clipped inside. Mine are DCF and the doors roll up and tie along the edge. IF only good weather is predicted, then outside would work. My problem was I roll mine up and the cord is rolled inside the door. In a rain with the door clipped or tied outside, water will get inside and soak the cord. The cord then has to be deployed to dry out. With them rolled inside, you have the easy to deploy while under the tarp. But if you choose not to deploy (maybe just a light rain and little wind so rain won't blow under the tarp) now the cord is still dry if it's rolled inside. And yes, all four tie downs are wet anyway!

Unless I have the doors tied down to keep the rain, wind and or snow out, I just let then hang.

For me it depends on the wind and if I want to hear it flap around. I mostly tuck them in the tarp

I clip inside. If the weather gets bad and I need to use them I don't have to go outside to close up shop, plus it gives me a little clothesline for socks that get wet.
