Ridge Outdoor Gear still in business?

    Hi everybody,

Does anyone know what's going on at Ridge Outdoor Gear? Been trying to contact them through a number of channels and can't seem to get through to them.

I'm interested in the Pinnacle 180 hammock. The website shows the old version, with the sewn-in stuff sack, not the double-ended. Then when you click on the link it takes you to their Amazon account, and it says currently unavailable.

Last time I spoke with them was a few months back and everything seemed fine.

Is there a similar low-cost, decent quality manufacturer you guys can recommend?

I've found a Covacure camping hammock online. The pictures look nice and I would buy one for testing, but right now I have no time. I need to place a reasonably large order for an expedition group, so the product has to be reliable.

Thanks so much for any help!

After a quick Amazon search, their 180° zip and netless hammocks are in-stock. Not sure what's going in with their 360° zip version. But it appears they are still in business.

Thanks rweb82, you're right. Their 180 is back on Amazon. It wasn't yesterday, and they haven't updated the website. But this is definitely an improvement.

    Many thanks!

I just tried to go to their website tonight to check to see what accessories that they might have in stock and the website is down. But the error that I'm getting (parsing error, syntax error) appears to be more of a html programming error than a site/server error.

I would think twice about buying a hammock if you can't contact them, good luck with warranty issues. Plenty of hammock brands with working sites, emails, and phone numbers.

I bought one a couple of years ago via Amazon and the sewing failed. Had no problem returning to Amazon for full refund. Only problem was the hammock was out of stock at that point and had to wait a few months to get another one. There were some nice improvements in the new one and while it holds my weight, it stretches' too much for my 300 lbs. However The Terminator ( wife ) loves it. For the price I think it is the best entry level hammock out there
