    Two Nights in Aravaipa AZ

Aravaipa was on my friend's bucket list, and we managed to get a permit to go before the busy season started. We went for two nights (the max they allow) - hiked in one day, day hiked the next, then hiked out. It's a lot of "find the trail" and frequent creek crossings, but was well worth any trouble. We took our time, enjoyed our PERFECT campsite, the beautiful scenery, and the awesome weather.

Would make this trip again if I get the chance, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested!

We found a little island to have lunch on. (sorry the picture is sideways, my first time posting photos!)

Lots of beautiful cliff faces climbing right up out of the creek.

Lots of hiking in the creek, but luckily the weather was warm enough the cold water wasn't too bad.

Our perfect flat camp site with a couple trees for me (I'm gonna work on converting my friend to a hammock!)

A natural little fire pit at our campsite.

Looks like a lot of fun!

Nice to not have to worry about finding enough water. And trees for the hammock.

The not worrying about water is a HUGE thing living in AZ - my friend and I used the Katadyn Be Free filters for the first time on this trip, and it was awesome to just walk a few steps to the water, scoop it, and keep walking!!! Unfortunately, that’s not a regular occurrence in this state.

Looks amazing - added to my list. I like gorgeous places like this that limit visitors in order to keep the experience enjoyable.
