Sad this hang can't happen. Heard from L D Cakes that she can't hold the Hootenanny Hang this year due to other commitments. With the John Rock Hang in doubt, we're running out of options.

I love going to the "Rats" hang which will be the 10 days leading up to Memorial Day. Will probably go the first 4 days. Too many crazys if Big Trucks over Memorial Day weekend.
I’m in favor of impromptu hangs!?!?
Anyone can post a hang.
We had a pleasant hang on Dutchman’s Creek Trail by Dutchman’s Creek at a place I call Beech Camp.
If a hang is posted about a week before, then you can get a good eyeball on the weather
Also anyone who posts the hang can choose location, date, either car camping or backpacking
Short miles or long miles
Beech Camp named by me, it’s covered with beech trees-the kind people carve their names on.
I don’t carve my name on trees—they are ideal for hammock hanging
Also there was another fun impromptu hang with some cool hammock campers. It was just over an hours hike south on Uwharrie Trail. Trail head was at Yates Place.
Plenty of creek water at both sites.
Also another impromptu backpacking camping trip was off Robbin’s Branch trail head. From Robbin’s Branch Trail we hiked to Hanna’s Creek Trail.
After a short way turned right onto Cooper’s Mine Trail. A short ways on the trail is near a creek.
Plenty of great fun camping there—but the creek water, even though filtered, had an off taste.
I encourage y’all to have impromptu hangs—either car camping or short mile backpacking.
All the cool kids manage to have fun hangs
My question to you is:
What’s holding you back?!?!?
You can send private messages as invites
Or post impromptu hang on Hammock Forums
