Red face Hello from Texas!

Hello! I'm Larry and I live in North Texas.

A friend of mine introduced me to hammock camping and once I tried it, I was hooked. No longer did I have to crawl in and out of a tent. I didn't have to sleep on the cold ground. I didn't have to feel the heat of the summer boiling me alive. Thanks to that friend, I have been comfortable every time I have hung.

I love that I can take my gear on the motorcycle and just relax where ever I end up as I use a Tensa Solo (both ends) if I don't find trees. I prefer the trees when I can but it's nice to know I can hang anywhere when needed.

    Happy Hanging!

Welcome, Larry! there are quite a few bikers on the forum that have discovered hammocks. Motorcycle trips are a great way to see the country.

angrylarry I’m also in NTX and just ordered a set of the tense solos. How have they been for you? Any suggestions or tips on setup? Was using trees when in SC, but no trees like that around my part of Texas. Rebuilding the engine on my bike now, and look forward to getting on the road and exploring TX soon.
