Thanks. No one hammock can be the best for everyone. In general, I like a really firm hammock and I'm pretty happy with my DL XLC. Truth be told, it's probably plenty "good enough." But I always wondering if there's something even better (for me) out there. At some point you get to that point of diminishing returns. I've not spent substantial time in a symmetrical hammock yet but I just might have to find out if that grass is even (slightly?) greener. It's the journey, right?

Agreed. My setup works well for me but others may try it and it's the worst thing ever.
I haven't had trouble getting underquilts dialed in. The SG just eliminates that variable. For the mountains of NC the 30 degree is about right, been in it from 20's to 60's with just top quilt adjustment to be comfortable. If I wanted to go lower I would throw on my Loco Libre 20 degree underquilt.

I just ordered a 15° Elite superior hammock with the standard 45° quilt. Very excited with the weight savings compared to my Haven. I only use the hammock and the pad from the haven, but its not super light. The Superior gear should be under 2 lbs before suspension and bug net.
