Comparing weight differences on these two completely misses the point. The wookie is essentially a hammock-size piece of fabric with insulation sewn onto it. The fact that the ends of the fabric attach to the ends of the hammock means there is no gap to cause issues. This is also meant to be left on the hammock so that you're never having to worry about the fit of the quilt. Its full length, but less insulation is used as its asym.

If you are not buying the wookie for the gap mitigation or convenience issues, then there are other traditional quilts to choose from, including the Yeti.
