Comparing weight differences on these two completely misses the point. The wookie is essentially a hammock-size piece of fabric with insulation sewn onto it. The fact that the ends of the fabric attach to the ends of the hammock means there is no gap to cause issues. This is also meant to be left on the hammock so that you're never having to worry about the fit of the quilt. Its full length, but less insulation is used as its asym.

If you are not buying the wookie for the gap mitigation or convenience issues, then there are other traditional quilts to choose from, including the Yeti.

I thought the Wookie was a gateway drug into a Superior Hammock?

I’m getting ready to stick my toe further in the UL world - by getting a WB SL BB to replace my DL and to specify the lightest cover fabric for the Wookie. A special agent noted that the fabric, rather than the fill (850 vs 950) more influences product weight/bulk. I have ¾ length HG UQ’s, but I’m also playing with a different temperature range - considering 10° and 30° (with maybe 1 oz overstuff for down stability), rather than the usual 0°, 20°, 40°. Our really, really, hot summer nights are few - especially at elevation. When kayaking - sea level - I’ll still have the 40° UQ and with the boat, weight/bulk are a feature (ballast), not a bug.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Or, if you’re buying it for these issues, you don’t have to stress about the weight differences, especially if you don’t use a sit pad

They both pretty awesome. I have a 0 degree wookie and 20 degree yeti.

If I did more camping than hiking I would stick with the Yeti just to save pack space. The weight isn't that bad. Yeti can also be used easier on different hammocks than the Wookie. Not saying the Wookie can't be used on non-Warbonnet hammocks but it may be trickier.

    Good Luck
