Hammock stand for dutchware 12 foot hammock

Ive got a question for you guys. I have a dutchware 12 footer hammock i would like to hang indoors. I was thinking about making a turtle dog stand. The hammock has a 10 ft ridge line- how long would i need to make the top rail/ pole? Also, what are some good options for materials to make the pole out of? Thanks for the help!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Here are a bunch of threads on Turtle Dog Stands to peruse......https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...rchid=15679470
Seems that some use metal poles. Fence top rail. Conduit.
Some use wooden. It would be easy enough to start long and trim to length.

A 12 foot hammock might have a 10 foot ridgeline.
Allowing six inches for each end, for continuous loops, and carabiners, might give you a need for a minimum of an eleven foot span—or more!

Maybe you can shorten that a bit, by using shorter or double wrapped continuous loops.

While I don’t have a hammock stand, I’ve noticed many of them have lowest point of hammock perilously close to ground. To correct that possibility, a bit longer legs might keep you off ground, better.

Kelty tarp pole. It works best when the pole is close the the end of the hammock (18-24"). Attach the tarp to the pole for simplicity. It also keeps the pole shorter that way, ( I go about shoulder high) which gives it more strength. angle the bottom in slightly.
