Horseshoe Lake, AZ for a quick overnight

I had not been out in a while, so grabbed my stuff and went to a little lake nearby (an hour drive). Decided to camp up on the overlook area. Perfect night with temps hitting 29 degrees and clear skies.

The Tensa stand and my Amok Draumr XL did the trick. Tied off to the Jeep bumper and the ramada support pole.

    Is that the moon rising?
The desert is so different from Alabama. It fascinates me.

We were thinking of putting in there and paddling down to Bartlett, maybe w/ an overnight hang part way.
Of course it was Sept and after driving 2.5 hours we found out that the road to Horseshoe was washed out and there was no access.

That looks super comfy. Perfect temperatures too. A nice, clear night in the desert is magical.

Looks like a nice and quiet place. I'll recommend that to my uncle as a side trip on their travel next week. We'll finish installing the headache rack and bed cover from 4Wheelonline tomorrow before he will complete his camping stuff.
