    Latest greatest Hammock Materials?

I've had a Hexon 1.6 Dutch net less Hammock for quite a few years now. The other day my dog was in with me, and ripped it jumping out. I was just going to get the exact same hammock, but was curious on what the latest, greatest new hammock materials are, and what is your favorite? Is there anything new out that is above all others for comfort and durability?

I'll throw in my two cents. It doesn't get a whole lot of hype but I love my AirWave fabric hammock. Incredibly soft and comfortable, minimal stretch, and plenty durable in my experience.

Following. There are a few newer hammock fabrics on the market like the cloud .71, monolite and similar UL fabrics, but they most certainly are NOT as durable. As far as comfort goes, nothing revolutionary lately AFAIK.

I was looking at HyperD or the hexon in 1.6. Interested in where this goes.

I like the AirWave as well, I don't use it for myself since it just doesn't stretch enough. But it is groundbreaking in how they made it feel like a cotton-type of thing but totally out of ripstop.

I prefer HyperD 1.6 in a bridge but have trouble with seams stretching with enough use.

Some people find it to grippy and have complained about that, its not slick like HyperD, much more of a cotton like feel. Personally to me thats a plus.

If you wear cotton pajamas, they all feel like cotton

I made hammocks out of 1.7 MTN Hybrid and 1.8 Airwave to compare. I'm a big guy and like a firm hammock and was looking for something a little less stretchy than 1.6 HyperD or 1.6 Hexon. Both the 1.7 MTN and 1.8 Airwave are equally supportive and comfortable to me. The 1.8 Airwave is indeed cottonier, although it's a little rougher than say a cotton t-shirt. It's more like a really thin microfiber IMO. Some have compared it to jeans or burlap, but I wouldn't go that far. It's tough to describe but not uncomfortable at all. Many really like it, but personally, I do prefer the something a little slippier. The Airwave also doesn't yet come in wide so you won't be able to be able get a hammock more than about 58/59" in width. Probably not a deal breaker for most, but could be a disadvantage for folks who like a wider hammock. You can get samples from RSBTR.

The newest trend in fabrics seems to be ECO versions of the fabrics that already exist.
