    Technically, you aren't allowed hang in Letchworth State Park. You aren't even supposed to tent camp along that trail. You are only supposed to sleep in one of the lean-tos, and only if you have reserved it with the park (which is free but must be done in advance).

    That said I don't think the rangers ever check.

    I backpacked it last April with my son. We followed the park rules and reserved the shelters but we met others who tented near the shelter and said they had done that many times without any trouble.

    Thanks, Bucky. I'm hoping to be able to scout it out this weekend as part of another activity. Probably not much snow there right now, but if we get a decent snowfall before spring arrives, I'd know whether to give the pulk a try.
