I did a quick overnight this weekend near my house to test out my winter gear. Temps swung a bit, going from 28°F to a low of 14°F before rebounding to lower 20s by morning. My main reason for the trip was to test my new Winterdream 12 tarp before I take it up to the White Mountains next weekend. I must say, the thing is great! Certainly a big upgrade from my Hennessey Hex Fly that I've been using the past 3.5 years. Those side pullouts allow for much more room and the doors should work well to combat weather. It's always a learning experience camping in the cold (or any condition really) but I was happy with how I managed my heat. The biggest problem is going to bed so early! I end up sleeping for a few hours, wake up when I'd normally go to bed and then finally drift off again in the early hours of the night. But I woke up at 4:30 a bit cool but not cold which is all that matters as far as I'm concerned. Shot the following video of the trip if you care to watch:
