Video: Hot Tenting Down To -19°F

Winter came...and stayed until the end. This was a perfect trip! It was nice spending 5 days in the woods running the DIY stove nonstop. I think I'll pack up the hot tent gear until next winter and get back on the trail...but we'll see.

Your sink stove looks great. Tell us about the fan on top of it.
Did you meet your neighbors and check out their setups?

The fans range from about $30-80 or so. I went with a cheap $32 version and it works great. Just moving the heat around a little makes a big difference. Also nice for those who like white noise.

We only had 4 hot tents and one tarp setup this go around. It was going to be a big hang but everyone's schedules are different. I just kind of go with the flow now and do what I can to at least overlap with a planned hang.

Thank you! Fantastic trip. 5 days makes for a great gear evaluation. That stove really works well.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.

That stove warms you up more than you think. Things like dragging, cutting, and looking for wood is part of it too.
