I'm pretty tempted by the Bandit. Are the extra ounces more attributed to fabric or OF? Also wondering what the recommended TQ length is compared to height?

I am 6’. I had ordered the 72” long bandit thinking “ahh I’m 6’ so 72” should work great”. Not so, it would barely come up to my shoulders. The good news was UGQ, at my request, put on a 6” draft collar ( for 30.00). Now it works great. You lose length because of the foot box. So look at UGQs website for your height. But this is a good deal for this quilt.

I believe the the overfill adds more weight than the upgraded fabric does. On the Underground Quilt website you can play around with the different options and see their estimated weight increases/decreases.
I pulled this from Loco Libre’s website on quilt lengths:

    * - Quilt sizing. Quilt sizing is not an exact science as some folks like their quilts around their necks while others like to pull them over their heads. That being said the follow numbers are a general guide to follow:

    70" -up to 5'6"

    75" - up to 6'1"

    80" - up to 6'3" ish

Thanks for all of the info!

Looking things up it is definitely tempting...

    A few more questions:
    1. This Bandit has the snap and draw cord neck closure, but no additional draft collar right?
    2. What type of food box option was selected? I don't see a zipper but that seems to be the option with a draw cord.
    3. Is this a no-taper or full-taper version? (I'm thinking no-taper from the picture, but not super versed in TQs)
    4. Is a stuff sack included?

Finally, I'm still pretty new to the idea of TQ versus a full bag. What sort of temperature range is this likely to cover? In the PNW we are generally 40-70F and while I can always add more layers at lower temps, the hope is to generally travel/own one primary insulation system...

Question 1) You are correct that it is a snap and draw cord around the neck with no draft collar.

Question 2) I prefer the snaps over the zipper so I asked them to make it a draw cord/snap foot box as opposed to the draw cord/zipper.

Question 3) I will verify tonight but I am fairly certain that it is no taper.

Question 4) I do not have the original stuff sack but if you need one I will provide one.

The temperature rating of the quilt is the go to/do it all rating. Most people use this rating as their only quilt, venting in the hot and layering in the cold. With the overfill, it will also help with performance degradation from moisture and humidity.

I use a quilt for everything in the hammock and everything on the ground except for deep winter in N WI/MN and am very happy with them.

Thanks again for all of the info. I'm going to think on it through the day, but am pretty sure I'll take it!

Re #4, yes I would need a stuff sack, those things are magic...
