Reservations for the SoCal Hangers 2022 Hang have been made: May 18-22, 2022

We've rescheduled and postponed a few times but unless some new crazy variant comes along I think we are looking good for May.

Please RSVP on the Facebook group or below if you are not on Facebook.

While this will be a reunion hang for many of us, we'd also love to see some new faces. I understand it can be a bit daunting to see just how handsome I am in real life. So the more dilution we have, the better.

I CAN'T EXPLAIN HOW EXCITED I AM TO FINALLY SEE YOU ALL AGAIN, EVEN RYAN!

The Ballad of the SoCal Hangers

“Someone’s gonna throw a couple dozen logs on the fire. (Hey Pedro!)
Someone's gonna get bleary-eyed and strange. (But not that strange!)
I can’t believe my luck, it smells like someone punched a skunk
It’s just another old fashioned SoCal Hangers Hang
Let's get some sheets between the trees
Car camping's easier on the knees
But harder on the liver, so they say.
Oh me, oh me, oh my
Let’s eat some Toxic Granny Apple Pie
It’s just another old fashioned SoCal Hangers Hang!"

We'll have a potluck Saturday night, hiking, games and a clinic or two TBA. PLEASE let me know if you are interested in leading any classes or activities. It would be great if someone coordinated a tournament bracket for horse shoes or some other leisure sport

If you have a hammock stand please bring it. We haven’t had to use them yet but I’d rather have them and not need them than the other way around.

Falcon Group campground is off the Ortega Highway in the mountains just west of Lake Elsinore. The campground is removed from the city, and is close enough to civilization in case we need supplies. There is water (non-potable) and vault toilets present.

On the off chance we run out of parking spaces we can park just outside of the entrance with a wilderness pass available at the small store just before you turn off of The Ortega Highway (74). I’ll grab a few extra Wilderness Passes for any vehicles that need to be kept at the entrance. If we run out of trees we can use the adjacent Blue Jay Campground for overflow but I think if we’re all willing to make it work and spread out we will be fine. Trees at the group site are first-come, first-served.

CONFIRMATION AND COSTS

I'll go through the records to make sure I know everybody who has paid so far and post the running list as more people confirm.

Please confirm if you are going ASAP for planning purposes As we get closer I will be posting updated lists of attendees.

Make sure to include your name and you HammockForums User Name if you have one. We covered the site up front so any help in this regard is appreciated. If you don’t pay in advance, please remember to bring cash with you! Either way, confirm below.

Cost is $30 per adult ($15 per 17 and under)
This cost is the same whether you stay one night or three. Think of it as a “Cost of Admission”
Any overage will go towards reserving the site for next year so we don’t have to go so deep out of pocket for it.

Please send your fees via PayPal to:

paypal.me/WillieCash

As we get closer to the event I will post more information (directions, what to bring, etc...)

I hope you are looking forward to it as much as I am!
