    Hello from Vancouver Island!

Found out about hammock camping on Monday. Bought a used Hennessey Expedition Asym Zip with a OneTigris underquilt on Wednesday. Went for my first hammock camping trip on Saturday!

I am so glad I have found this awesome hobby and can't wait to learn more. I am really starting to love being outdoors more and camping, but am done with heavy tents and laying on the cold ground. Anyone who camps in the PNW knows that there's no such thing as a "dry" camping trip here - if you're in the forests, the ground is always wet!

Here's a photo of my first hang! I learned a lot (I realized that I forgot to peg out the shock cord that is attached to the hammock so I felt a little squashed in there). I also had the BEST sleep of my life while camping! First trip in the bag, here's to many more!

Fellow Vancouver Island hammockers - where are your favourite spots to hang?

Sounds a little like me. First tried and slept in a hammock on a raft trip and a month later was a mostly full-time hanger. Live just south of VI and hope to Coho up there this summer if the travel situation normalizes a bit.

Welcome. If I ever win the lottery that is where I will be moving. I think it is the most beautiful place.
