Looks like a lot of work, and a lot of fun. I have never tried a hot tent. I sort of like getting acclimated to the cold when winter camping, it's always been part of it for me. Being older now, that stove does have a certain appeal. :P

Definitely a lot of work but I have it down to a science, so it's pretty smooth setting up. I'm lighting that stove in under an hour after finding my spot.
You you soon realize it's a lot more than just putting in a stove and cutting a some wood. Of course, you can it make as complex or simple as you want. I like to put in the effort and make it a home away from home.
Nice looking spot and the drive out looked great.
Are you willing to share the forest road number where you were?
Last season I camped a lot between Tawas and Lumbermans monument. Looking for new areas of the Huron NF to explore this year.
