Long time Northern Hanger, new to tropics

Hey folks, I wanted to tap the brain trust.

I've been hanging for over a decade now, but nearly always in Canada or along the California coastline.

I moved to Mexico back in October and of course brought my hammocks but I'm finding my Bonefire Whisper waaaaaay too hot and same with my Ridge Runner. It's not so much the insulation that kills me, but how sweaty I get on the body of the fabric.

Mozzies bite me through the body of the hammy without insulation and if I use insulation I can't wear anything on my body to protect the hammock fabric from body oils.

How the heck do you warm climate folks handle this?

I just wash my hammock regularly.
    Once a week year round.

Permethrin for the bugs, and a rechargeable fan hanging on my ridgeline for the sweat.

I'll see if I can get Permethrin here in Mexico and I've got a fan I do use for that!

Switch to a cotton hammock. It helps. There should be somewhere you can find one. Better yet would be one I. The Mayan weave, which spreads out as you lie in it. You'll need to add a bug net. They are easily washed and dried as needed. Not nearly as sticky feeling as nylons.
