That would greatly appreciated. Adds a new twist to what we’ve done in the past. Let me ask you this. Typically I like to use a mix of meats in my chili. What would you suggest to go with deer? I haven’t cooked with it before.

FYI I picked up an iron tripod for the lamb on Saturday so we are good to go!

Looking forward to some of that Chili.

Also, the historical average weather for our area of VA is 2 days of snow in Feb. Given no snow is yet on radar we may get lucky, fingers crossed!

Any meat will do. I would use something with a little more fat content. Venison is very lean.

I have been tracking the weather and looks like there may be a little bit of rain early Friday with a high of 46 and low of 26 with from 10 to 20mph, Saturday looks like sunny with highs in the 50's and lows in the mid 20 with 10mph winds, and Sunday is looking sunny in the 50's. The moon will be just starting to waning too, so it should be pretty out there. See you all soon!

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces in the woods this weekend. I’ll be arriving around midday Friday.

First night fun! And the weekend is just beginning.

Got down to 19* last night by my thermometer.

Second night = 16*. I know that’s balmy for many, but it’s a new personal best for me. Not bad for my 20* quilts. (I was stupid and only brought one set and couldn’t layer.)

In the lost and found for this event is a green Stanley cup and two shepherds hook steaks. If they are yours just contact me and we will figure out how to get it to you.

I also want to thank everybody for a fun hang in some windy conditions. Look forward to seeing you all there next year too!
