Some of you know that I don't do very cold well anymore.
That's why I haven't been to the GHSP winter hang in several years, except the one that was moved to LG and the weather was mild.
My plan now is about Thursday noon till after supper Saturday.

We will see you at another hang, soon.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
Folks, I'm still excited to come, will be my first group hang! Going to tweak my schedule and come Thurs and leave Saturday just to avoid the super cold temps - looking forward to whomever makes it and meeting some new folks!
20 + 40 degree UQs (both down overstuffed) sandwiched together along with the UQ protector under me, 20 degree sleeping bag opened up & being used as a TQ along with a warm blanket or two on top of that......come on cold, throw what you got at me! I'll be in my uber-cold long johns I bought for my northern NH trip and will be snug as a bug in a rug. Plus I have a big package of the XL sized 12-hour Hot Hands body warmers I can add at 3am if I feel a chill. It can't be as bad as the morning we woke up at Yates covered in snow!
Looking forward to this weekend!
Oh..almost forgot...I also have a Big Agnes Hog Park 20-Degree Sleeping Bag I can use as a TQ. It's almost designed like a TQ - no insulation underneath and all on top. You had to add a 4 inch BA insulated pad into a sleeve in the bottom of the bag to act as not only a ground cushion but insulation also. I'll make sure to throw that into the truck.

Cold! Shug (of the 3rd person) Approves.
Just try and be warm when you crawl into the hammock. Chores, running in place a couple minutes. Get those feet warm before hammock time~~~~

I am debating it right now. The weather especially the wind speed gives me pause. Considering the tree crashed down that I was hanging last time I was in the woods.
I was going to bring my son after his lacrosse games Saturday. (3 of them) First ones of the season. Not sure if cold/rain is worth messing with it.
Not even including the price of gas. But it is part of internal debate too.
