Are you thinking of attending the NEHHA winter hang this January 7-9 in Chesterfield MA? More info is on the Northeast Hangers Facebook page. We usually bring extra gear so if you need anything just holler. We are a friendly bunch. Oh, and on top of the candy that Shug mentioned, bring a dish to share for Saturday night potluck and we usually all make food all weekend and share it. No one goes hungry on a hang.

Yes! And thanks. Assuming there won't be a place to plug in the 'ol crockpot, what would be good to bring... and in what?

Some cook on a two burner propane grill. Bring at least two propane tanks if using small green tanks, or just one oversized propane tank—bigger than a pumpkin
Or you can cook on bags of charcoal, or cook directly on a wood fire that’s eased down to a bed of coals
And there are some of us, who try to cook on alcohol stoves—hahaha Lol

It depends on wether you can Car camp or hike in. If I'm car camping I bring everything. Lots of extra water, gear and cordage in case someone lost or broke something.

I always like going SOBO; somehow, it feels like going downhill.

...and as it harm none, do what ye will.

Group hang - - Bacon. You will go from "who's this guy/girl?" to "Oh! Hi!"

If anyone offers you a caipirinha say yes.

I wonder what I’ve forgotten this time.
If I don't forget something each trip then I am not doing it right and it forces me to figure out a workaround. Years ago I forgot the spreader bar poles for The Terminator's (my wife) Ridge Runner. Had hiking poles so I adapted them and it worked.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
