    InsulBrite

I was curious if anyone here has experience with insulBrite? It appears to be a woven polyester with mylar/reflective barrier sewn together.
Commonly used for pot holders and to insulate casseroles, and would be great for pot cozies.
My question is, would something like this be a good "inner layer" to boost the effectiveness of an underquilt, and possibly work for middle of summer? It says it is breathable, but also mentions condensation from hot containers.
This is a link to a sewing site with tips for use. https://sewingiscool.com/insulbrite-instructions-directions/
It runs around 8 bucks a yard, 45" wide.

Yes, I have experimented with Insulbrite.
It it a little bit too stiff for my style, and not pliant enough. It doesn't fold or compress well enough. I'm not sure about it's thermal reflective property, or weight. This is just my view, you'll get more on this from others here,.....perhaps with more balance.

It is washable and from what I have read, it softens up once it is washed. The way it is manufactured, the metal layer doesn't flake away like some other fabrics of this type. I am toying with the idea of some type of pad, or insert. Not sure about condensation. That is why I am asking the folks with all the experience.

Sarah (from the former freezerbagcooking.com) used it. There's info on BPL about it.

Found an old thread from here. Sounds promising as a thin layered directly under the hammock, or as a thin pad inside.

I don’t know that I would want a layer between me and the top quilt. The less heat aloud to fill the down of the top quilt, the less effective the top quilt will be at keeping you warm. Rather something outside of the top quilt to help trap the warmth. Then you may have a condensation issue. Just my thoughts, I have no experience with the product.

Rabbit hole IS a good way to describe it.
