Arrowhead Equipment makes a synthetic underquilt for the RidgeRunner- the RidgeCreek.
Loco Libre makes the Ridge Reaper UQ. However, he's currently closed his shop- due to recovering from Covid.
I've had a lynx from Warbonnet before and loved it. Super warm.
Currently I have a Ridgecreek from Arrowhead Equipment. Really good quilt and Paul is great to deal with. It doesn't pack up the smallest, but it'll keep you warm and your wallet a little thicker. I would definitely opt for the XL version which is full length.
I have an Arrowhead Equipment Ridge Creek XL. Fit is perfect; no fiddle factor. Construction is top notch. Delivery was quick. Highly recommend if you don't want to spend the $$$ on down or need something that will keep you warm in wet conditions. My RR is used strictly for car camping so the volume is not a concern. Mine is rated for 25 degrees but I haven't gotten anywhere close to that in real conditions. Enjoy the search.
I have both. I motorcycle camp. Both are 20°. The Warbonnet is warmer than the Arrowhead. Fit is great on both. I use the Arrowhead down to about 40. From 40 to30 the Warbonnet. Below 30 I stack them.
Correction: Aerrohead rated 25°
I'm new to this hammock world, and just got my blackbird ultralight double delivered yesterday. Still lots to learn. How small does a underquilt stuff down to in size, and how long can it be stuffed before it starts to cause damage to the quilt. I'm thinking a 3 season quilt.
It depends on the temperature rating, the fill rating, the fabric, and dimensions of the quilt in regards to how small it packs. You do not want to store it compressed.
Thanks to all who responded!
