Thickness of Dutch hooks - did it change?

I had a Dutch hook break on me during a crazy wind storm (60 mph gusts!). I had a few extra hooks in my spare parts box, and when I went to put a new one on, I noticed that the thickness of the material on the hook that broke is considerably less than the new ones. I assume it’s really hard to make the hooks because of how small they are, but am wondering if this change may have been deliberate to help with durability. Anyone know?

Maybe the thin one was a one time occurrence, and the thicker hardware is the norm. I could be wrong. Was there only one thin hardware item, or were there more?

I had purchased the Continuous Ridgeline kit (with a wasp on the other end) over a year ago (the one that broke) and the replacement hooks last month. All of the hooks I ordered recently seem to be all the same size.

I think they are not supposed to be durable, but to break at 100 lbs to sacrifice themselves and save the rest of the setup.

Maybe call Dutch or email, to get information, unless it’s already on their online catalog.
