I knew I wasn't the only one and I am sure there are more. I usually pack my kx2 and efhw if we are car camping or my mtr-3b and my homebrew crappie pole 20-30-40 antenna. I am mostly CW when I backpack but it is fun to have SSB to show some of my non-ham friends what radio is about. Do you guys take your rigs with you when you hammock?

I got my general license a few years ago. My grandfather got me a hand me down HF setup and I've just never done much with my license. Played around a bit with repeaters on 2m bands but not much else.

When I lived in Alaska I'd take my handheld with me at least as a safety measure.

I am not in Michigan or anywhere even close for that matter, but I routinely put the ham into hammocking!

I usually take my Elecraft KX2 on day hikes and backpacking trips, but when I feel like being UL I take my MTR-3B!

I have a Xiegu G90 that I use at home and portable. I could probably take it on an overnight back pack trip, but mainly car camping.

K8TSG here in Ohio. I just did some hammock camping and ham radio for Ohio State Parks On The Air a couple weeks ago. I use either a IC-705 or FT-891 (I'm not a backpacker). I'm on YT as Hammock Radio: https://youtube.com/c/HammockRadio. 73

Not Michigan, does Ohio count? KD8GNC here. Never really operated while backpacking, but I've put up some Feldhell beacons on trips/
