Just today I was mapping out locations in the Pere Marquette Forest. I’ve never camped in it but I have to go exploring there next season.

Thanks for sharing a few days out in the woods with us.
Thanks for watching! I only use that skillet a few times each year for the hot tent. Nice solo size and fit for that stove. It was given to me along with a #8 Griswold (~1940s) and a really nice ~5" deep pot with lid that says something weird like "Chicken Pot" on it. That reminds me I need to get that out and research it; never used that one. I'd like to figure out the brand. I stripped them all down in an electrolysis tank and re-seasoned a few years ago.

That's the cheapo Baofeng UV82. I think I paid $30 but I see it on amazon now and then down to $25. Crazy good value. I don't know much about them and don't have a license but still fun to listen in, especially when there's not much to do out there. I'd pay that $30 alone just for the FM radio; nice digital tuning, scan, and great reception. And I programmed all 7 NOAA weather frequencies just in case I can't get phone service. I take it kayaking for the VHF, but not something to rely on being non-waterproof.

Get out an enjoy things! This entire area was stripped of all the nice red pines. I know it can't last forever. State is selling land. More mining in the UP. Residential areas popping up along the south shore. It's a shame.

It worked out great! Other manufacturers do that, but I have to thank Warbonnet for the high res photo on their site which helped me visualize how to sew it on. Nothing complex but I wouldn't have thought to do it.
