2 weeks ago I was 1500klm east of Australia this week I'm sweating it out in the Northern part of Australia,.
Gulf of Carpentaria.
Weather wise It's always ......HOT, just the adjective in front changes. Really is 2 seasons wet or dry
I was here in winter 39`c (102°f)
Today 38`c (100°f) but somebody turned the humidity dial way up!!!
Flew to a mining town then drove 6 hours north to the coast, I stopped halfway to break out the Tensa4 and hammock for the night. I didn't need the UQ but the skeetas would've found me through the fabric if I didn't use one. Nobody within cooee out here which is how I wanted it. The last trip 3 months ago the hotel reception was broken into with locals looking for grog.
The river mouth I'm at is known for 2 things, huge Crocs and huge Barramundi. A local lady back in the 50s shot a Croc over 8.5 metres (28 feet).
I'm hoping to wet a line on the weekend before heading inland to an oasis in that flat barren land. Adele's Grove should provide some hammock friendly trees near the meandering Creek. Here's some pictures of my journey so far.
