Put a Unistrut or even a piece of wood in a stake pocket and use either a bipod (similar to Byers of Maine) with one guy with one or more anchors or a monopod ( on lines of Tensa solo) with at least two guys and anchors. The length of the support in the stake pocket would depend on the truck but would be short enough it should not have to be 6X6. Something along the line of the Turtledog or other free standing stand would also work with truck camping except with the short bed the ridge pole would have to be jointed, maybe a chain link fence top rail.
Welcome Rob!
I think you may be dealing with the Ideal Hammock Law:
N=H+1, where N= the number of hammocks you need and H= the number of hammocks you have. Similar laws govern guitars, motorcycles, gear, etc.
