To the best of my understanding the symmetry of most, if not all, GEs is determined by the cut of the top/bugnet. I'll stand by my assertion, but I'm not above being corrected because my wife always was righ (right or wrong....wink). Albeit, there are a few anomalous hammock designs, e.g. WBBB with the "footbox" that possibly could determine the lay by the hammock body cut???

+1 on the Warbonnet net or cover determining the lay. If you zip the net (or cover) off, the hammock is symmetrical. I'm pretty sure DW and others are the same, the zip on cover determines the lay.
Hey Guys,
Good thread. I'm considering setting up in a spare room for a few nights a week. My lower back issues seem less irritated when I hang. My question is what set-ups do y'all use? Stands? Wall mounted hooks? etc?? I have a Tensa4 but can't afford to loose the space and don't really want to set up / break down multiple times a week. Also, can't dedicate a room and hang 100% of my nights or I'd become a bachelor again.

WolfPackOne, I just use some lag bolts with a hook on the end. I think they are 5 or 6 inches or something, and in a reinforced top plate of my basement room. They have worked okay for me with no deflection issues, but I built those walls and know exactly where I could put those lag bolts. I think a fairly safe thing to use are the wall tracks like the ones DutchWare sells: https://dutchwaregear.com/product/ad...e-wall-anchor/

I just use eye bolts as close to the center of the studs as possible. I have a set in my bedroom and the livingroom. Keep in mind my house is 100 years old so it has the true 2X4 studs, have never had a problem with any of my hammocks. When it gets cold enough I have 2 6x6x12 poles outside to hang on and I use the same eye bolt system there.
