    Hello from Northern Michigan

    Hi everyone,
I am a newbie to hammock camping this year. I have been hanging around in our woods on our ranch. Learning the ways of hammocks and hammock camping. I plan on bikepacking and do not want to use a tent. It's difficult at my age to get up off the ground. Michigan has plenty of trees to hang from. I have been lurking here recently and decided it's time to introduce myself. I have been watching Shug videos (& others). I just recently purchased a second hammock. An 11 ft Onewind double. I also own a Pinnacle 180. I will post in the newbie thread pics of my hammocks. I was wondering if there are other (older) women on this forum who also hang?
Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

    Liz

Welcome from Texas! I'm originally a Troll from Freeland, Michigan - we didn't have too many trees in all those corn fields
I don't qualify as an older woman, but wanted to extend a welcome to ya!

Welcome from muddy, corny, boring Indiana. There's a women-specific area under the Camping Hammocks section to check out as well.

    Welcome fellow Michigander!

Are you a south of the bridge guy or a Yooper?

I’m definitely older, but not female and I’ve been known to hang in the Huron and Manistee National forests along with many of the Michigan State Forests.

    Lots to learn here.

LOl Well thanks for the hello and welcome. There are fields of corn ion my area too, but also plenty of state forests. I live in Ocqueoc, MI Google Ocqueoc Falls if you do not know where Ocqueoc is located.

I am a troll, as I live approximately 60 miles SE of the Mighty Mac in Ocqueoc. You will have to try hanging out in my area. I know of a perfect location of a pine forest not far from where I live. It is state land and far enough from the closest campground (Ocqueoc Falls) to be able to disperse camp there. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Well I am really not old either (over 60). I still think I am a young women and can run and walk like I use too. My body tells me something else.
