BillyBob58, thanks for the heads up on "Threads Started".
I went back to posts I started in 06!

I've been wanting to find evidence of a few contributions I made to the HF community, just glad to be sharing ideas.
I've never made any kind of a deal about those contributions but in the last year or so I have said something about them and the reaction (or lack there of) of people gives me the impression they don't believe me

For instance I had just bought a Ray Way Tarp Tent shortly before discovering hammocks.
It had two pull outs on each side and I used it with my first hammock.

I sure didn't come up with the idea. I think pull outs have been used on tents for a long time and maybe tarps too.
But I don't think anyone in this modern hammock camping group was familiar with using them on hammock tarps.
I remember several taking checking them out on a group hang (the first HF Winter Group Hang I believe in 06).

Here is a thread I started discussing them with others, including Head Change, War Bonnet and Black Bishop.

I too will something make and joy in it's making

Hey, looks like I was not in on that old thread. But, I did use Grip Clips as a pull out. One or 2 of them are still on my old JRB. I have not been able to find Grip Clips lately, or I would buy some more.

I’m still here, and enjoy reading through the post. Not a founding member but came on board in 07. I remember meeting you Tim at the second Mt Rogers winter hang when it was at the wise shelter. I sure did learn a lot at those hangs about how to stay warm in cold weather. I did not have a underquilt at the time but the jacks showed me how to rig a sleeping bag underneath the hammock and that sure did help! Lots of friends made here with several that I keep in touch with regular.

Hi Skippy! I will never forget that Halloween hang ( 09? 2010?) in the Sipsey where it rained a ton one night, then you woke up with a bad stomach bug the next morning! That is the one where Thomas was supposed to meet us that night, but because Bee Branch creek was so high, he couldn't get across the creek until the next morning, crossing over a log. I hope you are doing well!

Good to hear from you skippy.
I should have titled the thread Early Members because that's what I really had in mind.

Hi Billy Bob, I am doing well, good to hear from you! Yes, that’s one trip that I will never forgot…haha! I think that I would probably still be there if not for all of you dividing up all of my junk and carrying it out for me. That was a miserable 8 miles or so walking out
