I rode out to Black Hills area in South Dakota, and had an opportunity to use my Tensa Solo. I found with the bridge hammock (Banyan), I need 3 anchors on the pole to have a solid hang.

    "One Tree" hangs

Same principles apply if your pole is a 2x4” or piece of timber you find on site.

I travel for work and sometimes camp. The person setting up the accommodations knows I use a hammock, but doesn't always have much choice, and thus...

    Hang_on_car.jpg

The car is new-ish and I was doing a lot of googling to figure out where to attach the straps without bending/scratching. Ended up using the rear hatch hinge, with a mocrofiber cloth to pad the strap where it lay across the spoiler.

This thread is reminding me that I should look into Tensa products. I've been admiring their progress from afar but didn't think I had much use...one more RV-centric campground like the above and the need is there.

(RIP the tent stakes I must have left at that campsite, because they were MIA next camp)

I'll cover this more in a trip report - here are three instances in an eight-day trip where I had to use the Tensa Solo.

Pelican Beach - not even a single tree; had to use driftwood stump plus Solo.
    PBBBS.jpg

Clark Island - plenty of flat space for a tent but only one scraggly tree for a hammock.
    CIBBS.jpg

Spencer Spit - nice ground for a tent/s at the Washington Water Trails site. Only one tree for a hammock.
    SSBBS.jpg

The Solo removes the need to find two good trees. I no longer have to find wider-spaced trees for a RidgeRunner. I can pick on tree and find the best second location for the Solo "tree".
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Could be my eyes but I can't see the tieout for the tarp extension section, otherwise it could break.

Correct st4hangin, from the top of the pole to the ground so you can tension your tarp ridgeline against it.

Have fun paying with your new purchase.
