DO I Need a second Hammock?

I think I already know the answer to this! Especially after looking at various profiles. Last night I was hanging in my BBXLC and as I crawled out the side I think I put a bit too much pressure in the zipper and the one (upper) side popped or pulled off track. I brought it inside and laid it out to perform some repair work and I see that it doesn't have that 1/4 solid section to pull it back onto and simply restart it. So I decided to try to spread the one side to snap it back over the zipper..... POP! I broke the zipper in half. SO.... I would highly doubt that this is something that can be repaired by my local seamstress OR possibly a trip back to WB for repairs.... right? But this issue has now brought that question of "how many hammocks do I need?" into the forefront. I always wondered what the hell I would do if I actually had a tear or a real problem, I would be without my XLCBB! And now with the weather turning (Western PA) I am ALWAYS in my hammock. So.... I am looking to order a True Blue Double layer XLCBB as my back up - And I KNOW that you guys are gonna say GO FOR IT...... or..... Dude... I own 7 hammocks! I guess I just wanted to vent. My wife is like..."why would you order another of the same thing when you can get this repaired in a couple of weeks.... She just doesn't get it. I guess I should just look at how many top quilts I have..... 5! Have a good weekend folks....

There aren't many people here who will try to talk you out of it!

Funny, I think I have about 7 of 'em as well... 3 Dariens, a Chameleon, a Halfwit and 2 Treerunners.

So, is it the hammock zipper or just the top cover zipper, or both?
It can surely be repaired, but it might be an opportunity to explore
the idea of different fabric weights or colors.

I think we all need a fourth hammock, so yes lol.

But seriously you can have different ones for different reasons, light weight, double layer, etc..

Yeah.... I think I made a typo.... I feel that it CAN be repaired... it's the zipper that connects the fly screen to the top of the hammock.. were I unzip to crawl in....And I know that there are some really nice hammocks out there.... I am sure that if I at first looked at and Purchased a HG or another popular brand I would be very pleased - but I am sold on WB.... I just love the way it feels - it DID take some time to tweek and figure out how I like to hang and how to rig everything, but I will probably just go for it on Monday AM - I don't think they ship until Monday anyhow - So, it'll be a new BB XLC double - just not sure of color, which really is not THAT important, but I actually like the True Blue and/or the Autumn Orange -

It sounds like the biner was not clipped in. If it is clipped into the suspension, it prevents the zipper from being over-stressed and damaged. The last time I heard, Warbonnet did repair damages like this for a small charge.

And yes, this is exactly why I own at least 2 of every hammock model I feel I cannot live without...

    +1 to this.

@rickyracer Also, I can verify that Warbonnet WILL repair that zipper for you, and charges a very reasonable fee for it. This is the WB page with some details: https://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/warranty/

I did the same kind of thing damage to my WB Eldorado when I was "testing" the new winter cover I received. I popped a few of the zipper teeth off the hammock side zipper, and WB repaired it lickety-split. There was a small wait for repairs though, because like many things these days, there is a supply shortage of the zippers they use.
