2" requirement - what do you do?

I've always used 1" daisy chains (8') long and whoopies to connect to trees. I recently moved to Texas, and the state parks here require 2" straps. How do yo handle this requirement? I ordered some 12' long 2" straps and figured I'd either just wrap tree multiple times when needed or use a Becket hitch.
That got me to wondering though - what are others doing out there when required to use 2" straps on trees? I was tossing an idea around of a short (3-4') 2" wide hugger that would go around the backside of the tree where the weight is in contact and then just use 1" strap/dogbone/whoopie end to connect to the two ends and to the hammock.
Anyway - I appreciate any descriptions or pictures of what you may be using out there!

I got some 2" huggers from DutchWare. Choose a length from 4' to 7'. Only used them once at a park and they worked well. https://dutchwaregear.com/product/2-...ylene-huggers/
All you need is some on the tree.

I also have a short set of 2" huggers. Think I got them from Kammok.

I grabbed a 2" set of straps from Harbor Freight. Not the lightest but I don't hike with them and I needed them in a hurry so......

i've been experimenting for the past year or two with such ideas as your own, and i came to a "final" design which i like a lot, i feel horrible about it as it's at least the fifth time i have to say this here: i just couldn't find the time yet to take pics and make the drawings etc to document it properly

it becomes more and more apparent that some people might appreciate it, so i hereby promise this one is moved to the top of my list of things to document.

but for now: your idea is solid, and you are right it should be possible (it's also "just better"). keep in mind my solution relies on using "something else" that is adjustable (ucr, whoopies, etc, so no becket)

I bought some 2 inch webbing, sewed loops in both ends and have a set of two in the car for each of our hammocks if needed. I run my 1 inch webbing through those and becket hitch to my evo loop on the hammock

Some, but not all will allow two wraps with one inch strap.
Depends on the place…and depends on the park ranger or camp hosts on duty.

I have not camped where this 2” rule was in place
Other than hearing stories from other hammock campers…I have no direct experience

Don’t quote me, on account of, I’m wonted in 38 states, and not wonted in 12 others

Pretty sure the implied question was how to best incorporate 2" straps into the hammock suspension.
